GTA Trail Work Guidelines

The GTA conducts regular trail maintenance days within Glenrock in conjunction with the NPWS. Trail days will be posted on the home page of this site and in the calander and all riders (and non riders) are welcome to attend.

Major Works
Major Works, such as new lines, re-routing, in sloping turns or major excavations will need to be undertaken with the supervision of the NPWS or under prior approval sought by the GTA from the NPWS.

All trail workers will be required to fill out the appropriate paperwork and sign on/off sheets at organised days to fulfill NPWS OH&S requirments. The GTA will supply all necessary tools on these days and on occasion the NPWS has been known to throw on a BBQ lunch. The GTA will also supply a yellow trail workers shirt.

These major trail build days generally run from 10am till mid afternoon, but evewn an hour of your time will greatly assist.

Trail Work Anytime
For the keen trail fairies out there who have done their NPWS volunteer paperwork and have come along to at least two training/work days, it is possible to undertake minor unspervised work. This work generally entails drainage issues, de berming and other general tidy up issues.

These unsupervised maintenance sessions need to be arranged through the GTA by contacting Lenny or Mick who in turn will ensure all the NPWS requirements are taken care of and tools arranged if required.
